Cronik Klone

Cronik Klone is malty, roasted, and deceptively smooth. This Amber-esque ale gets more of a cocoa-toasty flavor from the use of chocolate malts.

5 gallons extract

 

Ingredients:

 

7.5 lbs LME

.5 lbs 60L

.5 lbs 80L

.5 oz Black Patent

1 oz Galena (Bittering)

2 oz E.K. Goldings (Aroma)

WLP002 English Ale yeast

 

Instructions:

 

Heat 2-3 gallons of water to 170° F. Turn off heat and (using a muslin or nylon bag) steep the Malt for 10 minutes, then remove the grains and bring the liquid to a boil. Turn off heat and stir in the malt extract until completely dissolved. Return to a boil, set a timer for 60 minutes, and add the ounce of Galena hops. Sprinkle in the remaining hops little by little over the last five minutes of the boil. After boiling, cool to 80 degrees or less and top up with water to just over 5 gallons before pitching the yeast. Aerate well and ferment at 68-72 degrees Fahrenheit.
